If you want to experience the essence of Bali, before it was a major tourist hotspot, The Oberoi is the place to go. The grounds are expansive, well-manicured and tranquil, you can't hear any of the hustle and bustle from the street, yet you are amongst one of the best areas to stay for shopping, eating and entertainment. The staff are wonderful and truly understand the meaning of hospitality. They are attentive and accommodating, anticipate your needs and contribute to a luxury stay. The resort offers all the extras you would expect from a 5-star rating. Although the resort is older compared to others in the area, it has been maintained to the highest level. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are spacious and clean, and the resort offers a relaxing and uncluttered experience. There is so much space you tend to wonder where everyone else is. I have visited Bali over 10 times and stayed all over the island in many different hotels and resorts. The Oberoi is now my favourite and I would recommend this to those looking to find relaxation, tranquillity, and luxury. 10/10

This is our second time at the Oberoi as our first experience was so beautiful, calming and most enjoyable. Like most nice things you pay for it but there is something about this understated private resort in the heart of Seminyak. You immediately feel you're in Bali with its traditional thatched bure style accommodation, beach sunsets by the pool, rare to come by expansive tropical garden setting (with playful little squirrels), and warm attentive service, you instantly find your zen. The pool is preciously the right temperature, the small complimentary refreshing poolside treats come just at the right time and we discovered on Fridays they do a rotisserie lunch by the pool....the chicken on this occasion was yum! Big thank you for late checkout and transfer service to airport. And for the surprise little birthday cake for my husband's 60th on arrival, nice touch team Oberoi.

I felt they made the trip very personal and I felt so welcome in the hotel. It’s a wonderful, more traditional experience rather than a big high rise hotel. I loved that the little villas are all ground level and surrounded by lush gardens and lawns. This is my third stay at the hotel. It’s a quiet hotel so don’t expect a swim up bar and party vibe, but if you’re looking for that the hustle of Seminyak is right outside the gates. I also became unwell during my stay, they were so caring, called the doctor and checked on me many times to make sure I was ok. Highly recommend the Oberoi, I can’t fault their high level service, they go above and beyond to make their guests feel spoiled.

This is not your typical hotel property. Our room was sequestered away from the hustle of the city, but everything that you could want was just outside of the perimeter. The old world feel added to the charm. The volcanic rock that it was made from along with the thatched rooftops suggested that you had somehow gone back in time. There was lots of outside space that kept you from ever feeling like you were part of a large crowd. The service was top notch as well. Most of the staff remembered our names. Rooms were serviced several times a day. The pool staff set up all of your chairs and brought snacks and water all day. (There were no extra charges or tips for these services)
